
Islamic Marriage Ceremony
Congratulations on your upcoming marriage. May Allah bless you and your family. Our staff and Imam are glad to be a part of this joyous occasion. We want to make sure this will be a successful event for you and your future spouse.
We offer Islamic Nikah (marriage) services in accordance with the following conditions:
Essential Elements
- Mutual Consent: Both the bride and groom must freely and willingly consent to the marriage.
- Proposal and Acceptance (Ijab and Qubul): The marriage contract is initiated by the proposal (Ijab) from the bride’s representative and acceptance (Qubul) by the groom, in the presence of witnesses.
- Mahr (Dowry): The groom must provide a mandatory gift (Mahr) to the bride, agreed upon by both parties.
- Witnesses: At least two adult male Muslim witnesses (or one male and two female witnesses) must be present to validate the marriage contract.
- Marriage Contract (Nikah Nama): A written marriage contract outlining the rights and responsibilities of both parties must be prepared and signed.
Additional Guidelines
- Age of Consent: Both parties should have reached the age of maturity and sound reasoning.
- Guardian (Wali): The presence of a Wali (guardian) for the bride is necessary to oversee and approve the marriage.
- Public Announcement: The marriage should be publicly announced, often celebrated with a Walima (wedding feast).
- Compatibility (Kafaa): Compatibility between the bride and groom in terms of faith, character, and social status is encouraged.
