Job Description

This is a physically demanding, fast-paced job involving independent or team-based work to hand-build quality upholstered furniture. Drive, urgency, and self-motivation are needed to meet daily production goals. The role requires standing for long periods, lifting and moving at least 50 lbs, and using hands to grip, pull, and handle materials. Comfort with power tools, framing, and staple guns is essential. Responsibilities include working in a team atmosphere, performing any position within the cell as needed, proper use of Kan Ban containers, upholstering tasks such as knocking down sharp corners of frame, stapling materials, using hammer and staple puller, and additional air tools. Frame tasks include stapling, glue/wax application, and use of air tools. Cushion process involves validating unit cover, coordinating workflow, inserting stuffing, sealing and quilting, and stapling. Final assembly includes assembling components, oiling mechanisms, scanning tickets, and packaging tasks such as stapling, banding, taping, and moving units. Job requirements include equivalent education and experience, basic reading, writing and computer skills, ability to stand for up to 10 hours, lift 50 lbs, and skilled hand use. No supervisory responsibilities. Physical demands include standing on hard surfaces with frequent bending, twisting, and reaching. Additional duties may be assigned.
