Southern Arkansas University invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track education faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor of Educational Leadership in the College of Education and Human Performance beginning Fall 2026. The faculty member will serve in the Educational Leadership in Administration and Supervision (EDAS) fully online M.Ed. program.
SAU is a public regional institution with a total enrollment of approximately 4,700 undergraduate and graduate students and over 350 faculty and staff. Our campus is located in Magnolia, a city of 11,000 in rural southwest Arkansas, approximately 50 miles east of Texarkana and 140 miles southwest of Little Rock. Duties: Serve as Director of the Educational Leadership in Administration and Supervision program; developing and teaching online courses; serve on and lead dissertation committees; supervise EDAS adjunct instructors; committee service and leadership; advise candidates for successful program completion; demonstrate an optimistic, entrepreneurial outlook; work professionals from P-12 educational settings; develop and maintain scholarly activity; participate in opportunities to recruit, mentor, and retain students and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: must have an earned Ed.D. in Educational Leadership or a closely related field; commitment to the profession as demonstrated by P-12 teaching and/or leadership experience; effective oral and written communication skills; must have experience in teaching graduate online courses and advising candidates, a working knowledge of AAQEP accreditation processes, and curriculum mapping for program revision. Preferred qualifications include professional record of excellence, including scholarly publication.
