The Associate Attorney is responsible for supporting the Senior Partner and litigation team by collaborating with the Senior Partner in the management of his case load from initiation through resolution. This includes drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, preparing for and participating in depositions, court hearings, mediations, and trials. The role requires consistent communication with clients and opposing counsel, timely completion of assignments, and active participation in case strategy discussions. All work must be completed accurately, thoroughly, and within required deadlines. This position requires strict adherence to confidentiality and internal procedures, as well as proactive status updates to the Senior Partner and case team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of litigation matters under the supervision of senior attorneys
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and discovery requests/responses with close attention to accuracy, clarity, and legal strategy
• Conduct legal research and apply findings to support case positions and procedural steps
• Prepare for and participate in court appearances, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations as required
• Maintain case files and documentation in accordance with firm standards, including timely updates to internal systems
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff in a clear, professional, and responsive manner
• Participate in regular case meetings to align on strategy, timelines, and deliverables
• Complete all assignments by or before established deadlines, escalating concerns when necessary
• Adhere to all applicable laws, court rules, and professional conduct requirements.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in Pennsylvania
• Minimum of 3 years of combined litigation experience in a law firm or as a judicial law clerk
• Strong legal research, writing, and analysis skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize work effectively
• Experience with motion practice, discovery, and courtroom procedures
• Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with team goals
• Trial experience is a plus
