Responsibilities Ensure food is maintained at appropriate temperatures, covering and storing leftovers, and recording serving temperatures and quantities. Prepare salads, garnishes, and assist in basic food preparation or ordering. Cook, bake, or serve regular and/or special meals to clients and staff. Coordinate an inventory management system to effectively control and distribute supplies and equipment. Clean, sterilize, and disinfect areas and equipment. Assist customers in finding products, making selections, and purchasing items. Qualifications Oral Comprehension: The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Oral Expression: The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. Food Production: Knowledge of techniques and equipment for planting, growing, and harvesting food products (both plant and animal) for consumption, including storage/handling techniques. Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate. Monitoring: Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action. Supplemental Information Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc. Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
