Job Description

Position Mission:
Planned and scheduled all maintenance, electrical, and preventive maintenance work, including plant shutdowns and maintenance projects. Monitor and manage the SAP Notification and Work Order queues to maintain accurate and detailed backlogs for all Maintenance work. Keep track of all Maintenance costs and perform the month-end closing. Create purchase requisitions for spare mechanical parts and assist the warehouse with new material creation and part kitting/staging. Work proactively with all plant departments, external partners, and management to understand business requirements and identify opportunities where optimization initiatives can increase reliability and cost effectiveness.

 
Responsibilities:

• Detail a plan for all work for the Maintenance department, including staffing requirements and any needed materials.
• Detail plan and all non-repetitive shutdown work, and create accurate, resource-level schedules for all plant shutdown activities.
• Develop Repetitive Maintenance plans in SAP, considering OEM requirements and staff knowledge of needed maintenance activities. 
• Review the SAP Notification queue at least daily for incoming requests for Maintenance.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Management, and external parties to develop plant shutdown worklists and budgets.
• Prepare for and facilitate the daily morning meeting to coordinate Maintenance and Production activities. 
• Collaborate with all Maintenance crews to develop an accurate and achievable weekly schedule,s including ensuring parts are kitted as required.
• Maintain a planned work backlog to have available in case plant conditions change and crews need to be redirected.
• Follow up on daily work completed and manage incomplete work forward to maintain an accurate backlog. Gain an understanding of why the work was not completed.
• Perform month-end financial closing activities for Maintenance work.
• Monitor plant operations to understand urgent and ongoing Maintenance needs
• Maintain Maintenance KPI metrics.
• Prioritize new requests for maintenance and incorporate them into daily/weekly schedules.
• Perform 1-2 job walks daily to ensure plan accuracy and gain insight into plan improvement.
• Other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• A bachelor's degree in a technical/engineering area (e.g., Mechanical / Civil / Industrial Engineering, Business Management) is preferred. 
• 4-year technical degree or 5 years of industry experience is required. 
  Cement or other heavy industry (mining, petrochemical, etc.) 
  5 years of field experience as a mechanic, millwright, or 2-3 years of prior planning or maintenance management 
  Maintenance mechanic, electrician, technical education 

Work Environment: 

• Plant | 25-30% | of time | Extreme heat, cold, noise, vibrations, dust.
• Office | 80-85% | of time | Repetitive motion, distractions, eye strain
• Field job walks, climbing ladders/stairs/etc. | Medium | Up to 50 lbs.
