OPERATIONS MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY:

Manages and coordinates all activities of a branch location. These activities would include but not limited to personnel, sales, manufacturing, purchasing, inventory, inventory control and accounting functions, ultimately net profit accountability. The manager is responsible for the branch physical facility as well as branch functions/activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Communicate and provide direction to the staff of all departments.
  2. Interviews, selects, and hires new employees.
  3. Directs employee training to improve efficiency and ensure conformance with standard procedures and practices.
  4. Conducts staff meetings of operations personnel or confers with subordinate personnel to discuss operational problems or explain procedural changes or practices.
  5. Compiles required and special reports on the operating functions of the branch location.
  6. Put together the capital budget/expenditures in order to keep costs contained.
  7. Maintain personal contact with key customers in assigned markets.
  8. Assure that all personnel are utilizing all the available tools and following the sales and marketing plans.
  9. Communicate with VP WDIV, WDIV Sales Manager, corporate office, and officers.
  10. Make sure all corporate policies and procedures are followed.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide whatever service is needed to keep branch operations running.
  2. Always emulate the high WRM standards for Quality, Integrity, and Service.
  3. Participate in various corporate team programs
  4. Approve or disapprove staff vacation or leave
  5. Compile and project sales and budget figures for each business year
  6. Coordinate with Sales Staff, including Sales Manager and VP’s to increase sales
  7. Participate in required corporate functions

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  1. Excellent people skills and strong communication skills—listening, speaking, presenting, and writing.
  2. Computer literacy, including MRP, Word, Excel, etc.
  3. Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
  4. Ability to work under pressure with problem-solving skills
  5. Good mathematical and computer skills
  6. General construction and product knowledge, and industry understanding
  7. Operations, Sales, & Administrative knowledge, including company accounting
  8. Leadership and supervisory/management skills
  9. Ability to motivate others

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business management or related field preferred
  2. Minimum four years in-house or industry experience, preferred

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:

  1. Valid, unexpired driver's license
