Position Highlights

• Department: Laboratory

• Hours: Part-Time/24 hours (This is a benefits-eligible position).

• Shift: Days, 1st shift

• Shift Details: 9:30am-6:00pm - 2 weekdays (flexible with days) and every Saturday required

Position Summary:

As a Pathologists' Assistant , you will play a vital role in our laboratory team. Under general direction, you will:

• Collect and prepare surgical specimens for examination.
• Dictate gross anatomic features of specimens.
• Assist with dissection and preparation of tissue sections.
• Photograph organs and specimens.
• Dictate clinical summaries and gross autopsy findings.
• Assist in the preparation of preliminary diagnoses.
• Oversee the proper maintenance and operation of instruments and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Masters Degree
• ASCP certification as a Pathologist Assistant

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years of relevant experience, including Frozen Sections.
• Knowledge of current AP Laboratory Information System.
