SUMMARY OF POSITION:

We are actively seeking a skilled and motivated Physician Assistant to join our expanding Sports Medicine team, coinciding with the addition of a new Sports Medicine surgeon starting this September. This full-time role involves a balanced schedule of clinical and surgical responsibilities across multiple locations, including St. Joe’s Medical Center, our on-campus outpatient office, and an outpatient practice in Reading.

The position requires working five days per week with a combination of outpatient clinics, inpatient care, and approximately two days per week assisting in the operating room. The APP will assist the surgeon with a wide range of orthopedic procedures such as hip fracture repairs, knee arthroscopy, ACL reconstruction, meniscus repairs, total shoulder replacements, rotator cuff repairs, carpal tunnel release, trigger finger release, general fracture management, and other sports-related injuries. In addition, the provider will perform patient evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care, utilizing on-site diagnostic resources including an onsite X-ray unit for same-day imaging to enhance patient satisfaction. Call coverage will be required in collaboration with the surgical team.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for orthopedics and sports medicine, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and exhibit patience and professionalism in fostering a collaborative, team-oriented environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the practice and the introduction of new surgical offerings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of Pennsylvania required.
National Certification in Pennsylvania or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in Pennsylvania required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
