ASSYST is seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Analyst to support our client in Tallahassee, FL

Location: Tallahassee, FL
Job Type: Contract (Corp to Corp/C2C or 1099)
Position: Onsite, No Remote Work Allowed.

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team and ensure the delivery of high-quality software applications that meet business requirements and industry standards. The QA Analyst will be responsible for developing and executing test plans, validating software functionality, identifying defects, and collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications.
  • Participate in test planning, case/script creation, and execution for functional validation.
  • Define and track quality assurance metrics such as defect counts, test results, and status reports.
  • Analyze process evaluation data and integrate findings into business processes to improve outcomes.
  • Document and manage all defects, working with developers for timely resolution .
  • Deliver quality process and tools training to technical and business teams.
  • Act as an internal quality consultant , advising on testing best practices.
  • Maintain and update test plans, strategies, and requirement traceability matrices .
  • Design, develop, and execute UAT, system integration, and functional test cases .
  • Support end-users during UAT by ensuring understanding of scripts, success criteria, and tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software meets requirements and quality standards .
  • Identify risks early in the development cycle to reduce project impact.
  • Perform performance and stress testing using designated tools.
  • Conduct regression testing to verify that new changes do not affect existing functionality.
  • Document test results, procedures, and defects using OpenText ALM or other test management tools.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational quality standards and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field; or 5+ years of equivalent experience (education can be substituted year-for-year with relevant experience).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in systems development, QA testing, and/or business analysis.
  • Proven expertise in ensuring software functions according to defined business processes before release.
  • Strong ability to validate software integration with existing IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Experience in manual and automated testing for functionality, integration, performance, and usability.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC , QA methodologies, and different testing types (functional, integration, regression, performance, security, etc.).
  • Proficiency with leading Test Management tools such as OpenText ALM.
  • Ability to define test plans, create detailed test cases, execute tests, manage defects, and report results.
  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot complex issues and propose solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Keen attention to detail and a strong focus on risk assessment and mitigation .
  • Proven time management skills to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills
  • Industry certifications related to software testing, such as International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB), Certified Software Tester (CSTE), Certified Associate in Software Testing (CAST), and Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA).
