About the Team

The Legal & Corporate Affairs team is responsible for safeguarding the company’s reputation, ensuring we are operating with integrity and in line with our strategic initiatives. The Legal team provides high-quality legal services, ensures legal compliance and mitigates risks.  The Corporate Communications team works to execute strategic and effective communication efforts that drive brand awareness, preference and reputation with internal and external stakeholders. In addition, the Corporate Social Responsibility & Belonging teams support the company’s environmental and social commitments with a strong focus on pets, people and the planet.  The collective team supports the overall success and positive reputation of the company.

Overview:
The Risk & Insurance Analyst is a key member of the Risk Management team, responsible for strengthening and supporting the company’s insurance, compliance, and enterprise risk functions at our corporate headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. This role delivers actionable analysis, enhances risk reporting, and streamlines processes to help reduce the organization’s Total Cost of Risk. The Analyst also provides day-to-day operational and administrative support for corporate insurance programs, including renewals, and collaborates with stakeholders across the business to ensure risks are effectively identified, measured, and managed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic & Analytical
    • Develop and deliver risk reporting, dashboards, and analytics that support executive decision-making, enterprise risk management, compliance, and corporate risk finance programs.
    • Conduct variance, trend, and outlier analyses to inform operational needs and strategic planning.
    • Prepare clear, data-driven presentations and communications for senior leadership.
  • Insurance Program Administration
    • Assist with annual insurance renewals by collecting exposure data, preparing submission materials, and participating in underwriter meetings.
    • Engage with insurance markets, as appropriate, representing the business professionally while supporting relationship development with external partners.
    • Coordinate administration and compliance of corporate insurance programs, including self-insured and state/provincial plans.
    • Partner with internal stakeholders and insurance brokers to review vendor insurance compliance and support vendor risk management.
  • Risk Management Operations
    • Maintain and enhance dashboards and reporting tools to track key operational performance metrics.
    • Support continuous improvement of the the Risk Management Information System (RMIS) to support claim management and risk initiatives.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the risk function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of analytical experience.
  • Prior experience in Insurance, Claims, Safety, or Risk Management strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data, identify insights, and develop clear, actionable reports and presentations.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • Collaborative mindset with flexibility to work independently and as part of a team.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Cognos).
  • Familiarity with RMIS platforms (e.g., Riskonnect, Salesforce) and database administration.
  • Skilled in data visualization and dashboard creation (e.g., Tableau, Domo, Power BI).
