Pharmacy Technician - Providence Credena Pharmacy Anchorage at Providence Health and Services summary:

The Pharmacy Technician at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage is responsible for filling physician medication orders under pharmacist supervision and providing customer service to pharmacy clients. The role requires an Alaska Pharmacy Technician License, one year of relevant pharmacy practice experience, and advanced skills in specialty pharmacy areas. Description

Performs all typical duties of a retail. mail order, specialty pharmacy staff technician as defined by the Alaska Board of Pharmacy and local pharmacy drug outlet procedures. Fills physician orders for patient medications under a Registered Pharmacist's supervision. Communicate with and service the needs of the Pharmacy clientele. Has advanced knowledge and skills in one or more specialty areas in the pharmacy. (Advanced skills include specific certifications such as immunization administration, MTM).

Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, 8-hr Day shifts, 40 hours per week.

Required Qualifications:

  • Alaska Pharmacy Technician License upon hire
  • 1 year of experience (2080 hours) of pharmacy practice
  • 1 year of Customer Service
  • 1 year - For internal promotion candidate must be competent in all responsibilities of an Associate Pharmacy Technician: (external candidates are required to have the equivalent experience)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program.
