Qualifications:

• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter in New Mexico
• Experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with K-12 students
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff
• Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse student populations

Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students during classroom instruction and school activities
• Collaborate with educators to support students communication needs
• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents as needed
• Maintain accurate records of services provided and student progress
• Ensure compliance with all relevant state and school district regulations regarding interpretation services
