Jacksonville Location

Are you tired of being treated like a number?

Would you like to work for a company where the owner knows you and everyone else on the job site by name?

Are you looking for the next level in your career as a Pipelayer?

If you are saying YES, and you know that you have what it takes to advance in your career, our Pipelayer position at Petticoat-Schmitt might be the right fit for you.

As a Pipelayer at Petticoat-Schmitt, you’ll be an important part of our team in laying pipes for our large civil construction projects.

An Exciting New CAREER

We aren’t just looking for pipelayers. We are looking for pipelayers who are already thinking about the next step and want to become a foreman and eventually a superintendent.

Our work includes construction services for public works, water resources, wastewater treatment plants (WWTP), and site development. If you have skills and experience in pipelaying for large commercial construction projects and want to take your career to the next level, this role will be a great fit.

Your Responsibilities as a Pipelayer

  • Ensure proper installation of pipes, including correct use of grade stick, depth, elevation, and laser setup.

  • Maintain organization and flow on the job site, keeping the crew in sync and productive.

How to Know You’ll Be a Great Fit

This role isn’t for just anyone. You’ll be a great fit if:

  • You have hands-on experience laying large-diameter utility pipe.

  • You’re open to learning, improving, and teaching others.

  • You value teamwork, communication, and professionalism.

  • You know how to create cadence and flow so projects run smoothly.

  • Hours may extend depending on production needs.
